By accessing or using The Fishing Journal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.
The Fishing Journal is a software-as-a-service platform for logging and tracking your fishing trips — catches, locations, conditions, and photos — in a private journal. You may optionally connect a YouTube channel via the YouTube Data API to sync your videos alongside your trip logs. You write and manage all journal entries and content yourself; The Fishing Journal does not use artificial intelligence to generate journal entries or articles on your behalf. We do use AI to analyze photos you upload — for example, identifying fish species and estimating size — to help you log your catches more easily. You may edit, publish, and manage your entries through The Fishing Journal dashboard.
To use the Service you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Account authentication is handled by Clerk. By creating an account you also agree to Clerk's terms of service.
The Fishing Journal uses the YouTube Data API to access your channel's public data, including video titles, descriptions, transcripts, thumbnails, tags, and statistics. By connecting your YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
The Fishing Journal does not store your YouTube account credentials and only accesses publicly available channel data. You may disconnect your channel at any time by deleting it from your dashboard.
The Service uses AI models to analyze photos you upload — for example, identifying fish species and estimating size. You acknowledge that this analysis may contain inaccuracies, errors, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any AI-generated analysis before relying on it.
You retain ownership of all photos and content you upload through The Fishing Journal. By using the Service you grant The Fishing Journal a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
