Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TubeJournal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.

2. Description of Service

TubeJournal is a software-as-a-service platform that connects to your YouTube channel via the YouTube Data API and uses artificial intelligence to generate blog-style journal entries from your video content. You may edit, publish, and manage these entries through the TubeJournal dashboard.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Account authentication is handled by Clerk. By creating an account you also agree to Clerk's terms of service.

4. YouTube API

TubeJournal uses the YouTube Data API to access your channel's public data, including video titles, descriptions, transcripts, thumbnails, tags, and statistics. By connecting your YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

TubeJournal does not store your YouTube account credentials and only accesses publicly available channel data. You may disconnect your channel at any time by deleting it from your dashboard.

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI models to generate content based on your video transcripts and descriptions. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing and editing all AI-generated content before publishing.

You retain ownership of all content you publish through TubeJournal. By using the Service you grant TubeJournal a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Publish content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission
  • Generate or publish spam, misleading content, or content designed to manipulate search rankings

7. Subscription and Billing

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. Billing is processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize TubeJournal to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the rate of your selected plan.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.

TubeJournal reserves the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review the Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

TubeJournal reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. TubeJournal does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. You use the Service at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TubeJournal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if TubeJournal has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Changes to Terms

TubeJournal may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
